Post Grad

11:40 PM

When you're a recent college graduate {without} an amazing job lined up, you tend to have something that has most likely been slightly foreign for the last decade on hand: time. Half of me knows that this is probably the only point in life that I will have extra hours on my side, so I better enjoy it while it lasts. The other half of me is making sure I take full advantage. In between all the job searching and sugar mama aspirations, a girl's gotta keep busy.

Take it from me and my 3 weeks of post-grad experience:
Sleep is a beautiful thing. Someday sooner than later, jobs and babies will make it much more scarce. Right now, I’m lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons at the rec center down the street. This means that I never have to be at work until 11:45 at the latest. Enjoy it.
Get cute and go somewhere, even if it is the grocery store. Because fixed hair, some mascara, and jeans can do a lot for the self esteem.

READ. Finally, I don’t have professors shoving medical journals down my throat! Hello, historical fiction and health book sections of the library. I’ve missed you.
Learn new things. Confession: I have been a wife for over 2 years now and am still (not even a little bit) good about making dinner. Goal: find all the best vegetarian recipes I can and try out 2 a week.

Enjoy being able to work out whenever and as much as you want. You’ll never regret going for a run. No homework, no babies, and no after-work responsibilities= no reason not to.

Make stuff. Pinterest, I’m coming for you.
Pick up as many hours as you can at the pool. At the same job you’ve been doing since you were 15.

Help people out. Be available. Make people feel special. Working on this one.

At the end of the day, you'll always feel better about yourself if you do something useful. And really, the jobs of being a wifey are pretty fun.

Relish in it! Soak it in! Ready... set... go!
